My Story

Sean lives with his older brother, mother, and grandmother in a remote and impoverished mountain area. When Sean was about one year old, his father was sentenced to life in prison after a family tragedy. From that time on, the weight of providing for the family has rested on Sean's mother and grandmother. His grandmother is in poor health. Sean's mother does not have a job. She cares for the elderly, raises two young boys, and does her best to hold the family together through very difficult circumstances. She hopes to find work so she can help provide for her children and ease the burden at home. Sean is physically thin and frail but is doing well in school and still carries the brightness and energy that belongs to a child. Thank God, this family has not lost its faith or hope despite all they have endured.
