When Zack was 5 years old, his father passed away from cancer. His mother remarried shortly after and disappeared from their lives. Zack and his older sister had no choice but to live with their grandparents.
His grandfather, devastated by the sudden loss of his son, suffered a heart attack and underwent bypass surgery and his grandmother was diagnosed with bone cancer in her right leg and later suffered a stroke.
Zack is introverted, and the upheavals in his young life have left him constantly frowning with a worried expression. Despite everything, he does well in school. He dreams of studying hard, becoming a doctor, and treating his grandparents' illnesses so no one in his family has to suffer again.
