Matvii's father, a fallen hero of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, dedicated much of his life to military service. Despite battling cancer, he rejoined the military during Russia's 2022 invasion, showcasing bravery and skill before his death from cancer in January 2024.
A calm, shy, and kind boy, Matvii is in elementary school. He enjoys soccer, games, and bike riding. Matvii lives with his mother and brother. His mother takes occasional jobs to support the family.
