When Zoe was three years old, her parents divorced, and her mother left home. Her father suffered from this shock and was diagnosed with schizophrenia. He is now in a mental hospital. Zoe and her sister have lived with her grandparents ever since. Their father's illness brought a huge debt to the family, as well as the medical expenses of a year-round hospitalization, which almost collapsed the family. The two seniors are also sick themselves. Even with such trauma in the family, Zoe still loves to smile, is cheerful, and cute. She studies hard at school and has excellent grades.
